El Premio George es una estatuilla de oro hecho a semejanza de George Reeves 'Superman de la clásica serie de televisión de la década de 1950 "Las aventuras de Superman". Si bien este es el año número 37 desde que Metropolis ha celebrado su Superman Celebration, este es apenas el vigésimo año de los Premios George. El premio se otorga a un individuo, en reconocimiento a sus esfuerzos y dedicación a la mitología de Superman y la celebración anual de Superman.
